Black Belt’s mission is to more deeply understand the martial arts in way that transcends the academy. A desire to share with others, to empower them and to lead them by example through perseverance and encouragement to all.
We do not graduate students to black belt based solely on the amount of time they have been training but rather their drive to continually get better and pursue the very best standards set before them.
By the time a student enters their green belt ranking they should start understanding the system taught to them and how to best use the tools given within their strengths and weaknesses. Some people are aggressive, some are passive, while some are tall, others are short, some may have physical limitations and others may be natural athletes. Regardless of who a student is, they will no doubt experience many challenges in this phase that prepares them with the perseverance to keep going and overcome challenges in life.
Every new movement that a student has success, every stripe earned, and every belt test passed helps to build within them a “yes I can” attitude that it takes once they move into the intermediate ranks. To be promoted in these levels, attendance, attitude, and a willingness to try even when things get tough are the predominant factors in leading to a successful belt exam.
There is a huge difference between being a black belt and having a black belt. A black belt is, after all, a black piece of cloth that is tied around one’s waist. On the other hand, being a black belt is something profound that represents who you are to the core.
There are seven keys that can unlock the doors to success for each of us. They are desire, visualization, certainty, relaxation, focused attention, strong self-image, and repetition. Your martial arts training will employ each of these keys.
Most exercise will get some results when performed and most self-defense is better than none. The problem is that most fitness programs fail to offer excitement and interest to keep the participant consistent in their training, therefore setting them up for failure in their results.
48.9% of parents chose to homeschool primarily because they believe they can provide a better education at home. Make no mistake, homeschooling your children can absolutely be a rewarding and highly productive effort. No one will take a deeper interest in your child’s needs than you and having control over the curriculum you teach your child gives you a wonderful opportunity to make sure they get a robust education. However, homeschooling is a serious choice and if not done appropriately, can lead to your child falling behind the average student and lacking other important skills.
