White Belt

A white belt symbolizes the starting point of your karate journey. The fact that new students are still learning to control their thoughts and bodies is why they wear white belts. It represents purity and a devotion to this art form.

Yellow Belt

Yellow belts are awarded to students who are transitioning into more advanced levels of beginner karate classes. The color yellow indicates a student is exhibiting a stronger understanding of karate principles and has the potential to advance their training. During this stage, students will start to focus on the psychological aspects of martial arts.

Orange Belt

At this point, students are enhancing their coordination, balance, and patience. They will also start familiarizing themselves with the history of Kyokushinkai. This is when they will need to demonstrate various stances, strikes, defenses, and kicks.

Purple Belt

Purple belt students have moved from a beginner to an intermediate level. They have mastered various strikes and blocks, and know how to move their bodies accordingly.

Blue Belt

Blue belt karate students need to showcase significant progress in controlling their minds and bodies. The color blue symbolizes that a student’s mind and body are continuously growing. Students at this level are highly capable and confident when defending themselves.

Kids that train consistently in our kids martial arts classes will progress steadily and should have no problem reaching the life-changing goal of black belt.

Kids that feel good about themselves through karate classes for children develop strong confidence and self-esteem — which they can carry over in all aspects of life in the future.
What are the chances that my child could get hurt in karate classes?
Your child's safety is our main concern in all our kids karate lessons. We use padded safety gear, abide by strict safety rules and regulations for instructors and students, use padded safety weapons and even have high-tech padded floors — all for the safety of our students. Our instructors are specially trained in teaching karate for kids safely, ensuring that children learn proper techniques and control from their very first class.
Will karate classes make my child more aggressive toward others?
No way! As a matter of fact, we are careful to teach our students to use common sense before self-defense. In our karate classes for kids, children are taught to make smart decisions when it comes to self-defense from the first day of class. Martial arts that teach discipline actually help children develop better self-control and respect for others. They will know when it is the right time to use what they have been taught, and more importantly, when not to use it.

Every child has what it takes to be good at karate because in kids martial arts classes they are not competing or comparing themselves with anyone else. Karate classes for children are more than just punching and kicking – character development training is just as important as physical techniques.
