INCREASED ATTENTION SPAN AND FOCUS

Mastering karate techniques requires a strong mind-body connection. Synchronizing your thoughts, movements, and breathing will help you develop a heightened awareness of your body and surroundings. White Belt

A white belt symbolizes the starting point of your karate journey. The fact that new students are still learning to control their thoughts and bodies is why they wear white belts. It represents purity and a devotion to this art form.

Yellow Belt

Yellow belts are awarded to students who are transitioning into more advanced levels of karate. The color yellow indicates a student is exhibiting a stronger understanding of karate principles and has the potential to advance their training. During this stage, students will start to focus on the psychological aspects of martial arts.

Orange Belt

At this point, students are enhancing their coordination, balance, and patience. They will also start familiarizing themselves with the history of Kyokushinkai. This is when they will need to demonstrate various stances, strikes, defenses, and kicks.

Purple Belt

Purple belt students have moved from a beginner to an intermediate level. They have mastered various strikes and blocks, and know how to move their bodies accordingly.

Blue Belt

Blue belt karate students need to showcase significant progress in controlling their minds and bodies. The color blue symbolizes that a student’s mind and body are continuously growing. Students at this level are highly capable and confident when defending themselves.

Green Belt

Green belts represent growth. These students will learn to master even more kicks and strikes as physical demands increase. They will also learn how to become proficient in using their elbows.

Brown Belt

A brown belt is the highest ranking in the karate belt system. At this stage, students will have mastered the execution of numerous karate techniques and can use them to resist opponents. They understand how to defend themselves effectively when necessary. Brown belts with a black stripe indicate further mastery.

Red Belt

Students who achieve a red belt have advanced to sparring levels, indicating they know how to defend themselves in a variety of situations using karate and other forms of martial arts. Students at this level can also achieve a red belt with a black stripe and a half red, half black belt.

Black Belt

Achieving a black belt takes years of hard work and dedication, but it is possible. Black belt students are true karate masters and can go on to teach others if they want to.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I know my child will have fun, but they have quit other activities before. How can we keep them from quitting?
As long as a parent makes and keeps the commitment of making sure their child attends class once or twice per week, children will learn and excel in their training. Kids that train consistently will progress in martial arts and should have no problem reaching the life-changing goal of black belt.
Is martial art training good exercise if my child needs to lose weight?
Martial arts is great exercise for kids. Martial arts training, combined with a sensible diet, can transform a child’s physical and overall health. Kids that feel good about themselves are children that develop strong confidence and self esteem — which they can carry over in all aspects of life in the future.
What are the chances that my child could get hurt doing martial arts?
Your child’s safety is our main concern. We use padded safety gear, abide by strict safety rules and regulation for instructors and students, use padded safety weapons and even have high-tech padded floors — all for the safety of our students.
Will martial arts training make my child aggressive to others?
No way! As a matter of fact, we are careful to teach our students to use common sense before self defense. Kids are taught to make smart decisions when it comes to self defense from the first day of class. They will know when it is the right time to use what they have been taught.
My child has never been good at sports; can they do this?
Every child has what it takes to be good at martial arts, because in martial arts they are not competing or comparing themselves with anyone. Martial arts are more than just punching and kicking. Character development training is just as important as punching and kicking. Once we develop a child’s confidence, they can achieve anything they set their mind to.
Is my child too young for martial arts training?
At Premier Martial Arts, we are experts at teaching martial arts. We have programs specially designed for ages 3 to 4, 5 to 7, 8 to 12, teens, and adults. Our instructors are trained to bring out the best in our students’ performance at any age. However, please note that ages 3 to 4 classes are not offered at all studios.
